About “Death at the inn”

The Ariadne Inn had two types of guests: regulars who drank in the public bar and motorists who gathered in the cocktail bar and garden. On a warm August evening, the inn was full, and in the garden, a guest was found dead instead of asleep. The cause of death was mysterious, as was the man's background—Mr. Warstock's presence at the inn raised questions about why he had come. The novel, written by John Rhode, presents a complex mystery for detectives Superintendent Jimmy Waghorn and Doctor Lancelot Priestley. It also explores the potential dangers of belonging to a London club and the use of a large country house.
