About “Proceed with Caution”
The book is the twenty-seventh in a long-running mystery series featuring Dr. Launcelot Priestley. Superintendent Hanslet of Scotland Yard investigates the theft of valuable jewels during transport from Hatton Garden. At the same time, Inspector Waghorn examines the discovery of a body in a tar burner in a Kent village, which is unrecognizable. Dr. Priestley solves the case by showing the connection between the missing jewels and the corpse. The story is a detective novel by John Rhode.
