About “A War of Gifts”

At the Battle School, the sole focus is on the strategy and tactics of war. Students come from all over the world, regardless of culture, race, or religion. The environment is strict, with no tolerance for cultural or religious expressions, not even for Santa Claus. However, the students find ways to express themselves. One student places a Sinterklaas Day gift in his best friend's shoe, an act of quiet rebellion. This small gesture sparks a conflict between the students and the staff, who are unprepared for the challenge to their authority. The story explores the tension between rigid discipline and the desire for personal expression among the young warriors.
