Speaker for the Dead is a 1986 science fiction novel by Orson Scott Card, published as a sequel to Ender's Game, which was released in 1985. The story is set in the year 5270, approximately 3,000 years after the events of Ender's Game. Despite the vast time difference, Ender remains around 35 years old due to relativistic space travel at near-light speed.
