About “Posthomerica”
The Posthomerica is an epic poem written in Greek hexameter verse by Quintus of Smyrna. It was likely composed in the 3rd century AD. The poem covers the Trojan War, focusing on events from the death of Hector to the fall of Troy. It is based on earlier works of the Epic Cycle, including the Aethiopis and Iliou Persis by Arctinus of Miletus, and the Little Iliad by Lesches. These earlier poems are now lost. The Posthomerica serves as a condensed version of their narratives. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
