Guinevere: The Legend of Autumn is a 1993 novel by Persia Woolley and the third book in the Guinevere trilogy. It retells the Arthurian legend from the perspective of Guinevere, King Arthur’s wife. The story begins with Guinevere reflecting while imprisoned, facing execution for her affair with Lancelot. She recounts the Holy Grail quest, the arrival of Perceval and Gareth at the court, and Mordred’s rebellion with his brothers Agravain and Gaheris. The novel concludes with Arthur’s conflict with Lancelot over Guinevere and the final war between Arthur and Mordred, resulting in Arthur’s death and the end of an era.
