About “The Council of Twelve”
In 1672, hangman Jakob Kuisl and his family travel to Munich for a meeting of the Council of Twelve, the leaders of the empire's hangmen's guild. When young women turn up dead, authorities assume suicide, but Kuisl notices each victim wears a matching amulet and suspects murder. Superstitious townsfolk blame the hangmen's guild for calling the devil upon the city, and if Kuisl fails to solve the case, it will affect all of Germany's hangmen. The seventh installment in Oliver Potzsch's Hangman's Daughter series.
