In 2005, Jo Nesbø published a novel in which an explosion disrupts a Salvation Army concert in Oslo on Christmas night. A man in uniform is shot and killed, but the assassin soon realizes he has killed the wrong person. Harry Hole and his team face a difficult investigation with no immediate suspect, weapon, or motive. As the team tracks a suspected hit man through his credit card activity, false passport, and connection to his employer, the assassin becomes desperate after running out of money and shelter. With only six bullets left, he remains determined to complete his mission.
