About “Gone Tomorrow”

New York City at two in the morning. A subway car heading uptown contains Jack Reacher and five other passengers. One of them, Susan Mark, is in trouble. She has a lonely heart, an estranged son, and a big secret. Reacher, working with a woman cop and shadowy feds, tries to uncover how deep Susan's secret goes and what danger it brings. A race through Manhattan begins, involving violent, skilled soldiers in a shadow war. Susan's life is connected to people in Washington, California, and Afghanistan, including a former Delta Force operator running for the U.S. Senate and a young woman with a fantastic story. Everyone is lying to Reacher, and the mystery spans three decades, touching the heart of America. For Reacher, the answer comes when he faces his worst enemy. This is a 2009 novel by Lee Child.
