Patriot Games is a thriller novel written by Tom Clancy and published in July 1987. The story follows Jack Ryan, a character who becomes the target of the Ulster Liberation Army after he prevents their kidnapping attempt on the Prince and Princess of Wales in London. The novel is part of Clancy's series featuring Ryan, who appears in most of his books. It is followed by Without Remorse, which serves as an indirect prequel and is chronologically the first book in the series.
