About “Cause of Death”

The body of Theodore Andrew Edding was found underwater after a supposed diving session. Forensic expert Kay Scarpetta investigates and begins receiving calls from unknown numbers with false identities. She also notices suspicious behavior from colleagues, strange nighttime visits, and deliberate sabotage. To protect herself, Scarpetta isolates herself in her laboratory, carefully examining every clue. In Norfolk, Virginia, a reporter is killed while scuba diving in the naval yard. As she investigates, Scarpetta uncovers a plot by a fascist militia to seize control of an atomic power plant.
