Earth officials were pursuing the mysterious Sirian spy, Agent X, when he escaped in a stolen spaceship. Before they could capture him, Agent X ejected a capsule containing his report into the icy rings of Saturn. Lucky Starr and Bigman Jones then raced against the Sirian war fleet to recover it. When the Sirians failed to find the capsule, they kidnapped Lucky and Bigman and took them to a secret military base on Titan. There, the Sirian commander forced Lucky to choose: betray Earth or watch Bigman die. The threat was real.
