About “MaddAdam”

MaddAddam is the final novel in Margaret Atwood's speculative fiction trilogy, bringing together characters from Oryx and Crake and The Year of the Flood. After a pandemic wipes out most of humanity, Toby and Ren rescue their friend Amanda from the Painballers and return to the MaddAddamite cob house, which is being fortified. They are joined by the Crakers, a gentle species created by the late Crake. Toby narrates the Craker theology and deals with personal conflicts, including jealousy toward her lover, Zeb. Zeb searches for Adam One, founder of the God's Gardeners, while the group prepares for a Painballer attack. The novel explores Zeb's past, including a lost brother, a murder, and a bear. Combining adventure, humor, and storytelling, MaddAddam concludes Atwood's dystopian trilogy.
