About “Maigret and the Yellow Dog”

Maigret is in Rennes to reorganize the flying squad when he is called to Concarneau after Monsieur Mostaguen, a respected citizen, is shot dead while leaving the Admiral Café. Mostaguen was part of a regular group that met at the café, and initially, there seems to be no clear motive for the crime. Evidence suggests he may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Soon after, another group member is wounded, one is found poisoned, and strychnine is discovered in others' drinks. Alongside a timid waitress, a violent vagrant, and a yellow dog, Maigret investigates the past to uncover the true motive and the real killer.
