The Third Option is a thriller novel by Vince Flynn featuring Mitch Rapp, a CIA operative who works for the covert counterterrorism unit known as the Orion Team. The title refers to the option in international relations when diplomacy fails and military intervention is inappropriate: black operations. The book is the fourth in the Mitch Rapp series, which began with American Assassin, though that novel was written later and serves as a prologue to Kill Shot.
