About “The Scarecrow of Oz”
The Scarecrow of Oz is the ninth book in the Oz series by L. Frank Baum, published on July 16, 1915. It is Baum's personal favorite among the Oz books. The story follows Cap'n Bill and Trot, characters who first appeared in The Sea Fairies (1911) and Sky Island (1912). In this book, they travel to Oz and work with the Scarecrow to defeat the corrupt King Krewl of Jinxland. The novel highlights their adventure and the Scarecrow's role in restoring order.
