"Back to the Stone Age" is the fifth book in Edgar Rice Burroughs's Pellucidar series. It follows Lieutenant von Horst, a member of the original group that traveled to Pellucidar with Jason Gridley and Tarzan. Unlike the others, von Horst is left behind in the inner world. He faces numerous dangers as he wanders alone, struggling to survive in a harsh and unfamiliar environment. The 1937 novel focuses on his isolation and the challenges he encounters in this strange land.
