Ramona the Pest is the second book in the Ramona series and the first to center on Ramona Quimby as the main character. It follows her experiences during the first few months of kindergarten. The title comes from the way others, including her older sister Beatrice, often call her a "pest." The book was published in 1968 and includes illustrations by Louis Darling. In 2012, it was ranked number 24 on a list of the top 100 children's novels by School Library Journal. The book is part of a series that includes Best of Ramona and Trouble with Ramona and Beezus.
