More than four seasons have passed since Mariel the Warriormouse and Dandin left Redwall in search of adventure. Joseph, Mariel's father and the Bellmaker, is deeply worried. His answer comes to him in a dream, prompting him to set out with Finnbarr Galedeep and the crew of the Pearl Queen to save a kingdom and find his daughter. The dream holds a riddle, and Joseph must decipher it quickly. He faces the threat of Urgan Nagru, the Foxwolf, who is planning to plunder the kingdom of Southsward. The journey tests Joseph's courage and determination as he races against time to rescue Mariel before it's too late.
