Riftwake is an in-progress sequel trilogy to Brandon Sanderson's Skyward series, written primarily by Janci Patterson with Sanderson editing; it follows Skyward Flight (led by Arturo Mendez) on a diplomatic/exploratory mission to a mysterious world shortly after the events of Defiant. The first book, Blightfall, is scheduled for release September 1, 2026, with book two (working title Songrise) expected in 2027 and a third book still unannounced/untitled.
