About “Ringworld”
Ringworld is a 1970 science fiction novel by Larry Niven set in his Known Space universe. The story follows Louis Wu and his companions as they explore the Ringworld, a massive rotating ring structure in space, 186 million miles in diameter. Niven later expanded the series with three sequels and, with Edward M. Lerner, four prequels and a final sequel, forming the Fleet of Worlds series. All novels in the Ringworld series connect to other works in the Known Space universe. Ringworld won the Nebula Award in 1970 and the Hugo and Locus Awards in 1971.
