About “False Scent”
In a 1960 novel by Ngaio Marsh, British actress Mary Bellamy is killed at her birthday party by a poisonous mist from a bottle of "Slaypest," an insecticide. She is surrounded by fans who are also her enemies. Superintendent Roderick Alleyn investigates and suspects murder among the theater attendees. The story combines elements of mystery and drama.
