About “The Last Wilderness”

Toklo, Kallik, Lusa, and Ujurak reach the Last Great Wilderness, the bear paradise they've been searching for, but Ujurak feels a deep unrest even as his companions think the journey is over. The bears begin to remember their true natures: Toklo feels the urge to hunt caribou as a brown bear should, and Kallik feels the pull of the ice, while only Lusa fears the day her friends will leave to follow their own paths. Disaster strikes, forcing the friends into the world of the flat-faces to save one of their own.
