In this space thriller, the crew of the Solar Queen, celebrated after averting a disaster, seek profitable trade and discover a derelict ship with enough fuel to reach a nearby space habitat. The habitat hosts three species—human, Kanddoyd, and Shver—but a fourth group, bureaucratic officials, challenges the crew's claim to the derelict. As the crew faces threats from an alien stowaway, spacejackers, and a violent alien clan, their journey transforms into a series of dangerous encounters.
