About “The Silver Hand”

The Silver Hand is the second novel in Stephen R. Lawhead's Song of Albion trilogy, following the journey of Lewis, a graduate student in Celtic studies who enters the alternate world of Albion and becomes the warrior Llew. After being maimed by Prince Meldron, who usurps the throne and cuts off his hand, Llew flees with the bard Tegid to establish a settlement in the north. Divine intervention grants him a new hand of silver, earning him the name "Silver Hand" and confirming his kingship when Meldron is killed in the corrupting waters of the lake.
