Pigeon Post is the 6th novel in Arthur Ransome's Swallows and Amazons series, published in 1936, and was the first winner of the Carnegie Medal for the best children's book by a British subject. Unlike the rest of the series, it does not feature sailing, instead centering on mining in the Lake District's Fells, with descriptions of using homing pigeons to carry messages.
