The Tale of the Eternal Champion is a series of fantasy novels by Michael Moorcock, set within a multiverse comprising recurring worlds and eras. It features multiple incarnations of a single figure known as the Eternal Champion, who appears across different times and realities, including Dorian Hawkmoon, Elric of Melniboné, and Erekose. The series explores recurring themes of destiny, the search for meaning, and the conflict between order and chaos. It was expanded into novel form in 1970 and revised for a 1978 edition, forming the first volume of the Erekosë trilogy, followed by Phoenix in Obsidian and The Dragon in the Sword. The series includes eleven books published between 1965 and 1995.
