About “Tarzan and the madman”

A 1964 novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs follows a beautiful white woman who is captured by a lost civilization of semi-pagan tribesmen and regarded as a prisoner goddess. Two ruthless criminals search for a lost gold hoard in Tarzan’s territory, stealing from the tribesmen and attacking the creatures of the forest. A young man, described as strong and bronzed, wearing a loincloth and calling himself 'Tarzan,' creates confusion among the tribespeople, except for those who are loyal to the real jungle hero.
