About “The Boxcar Children”

Four orphaned siblings, Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny Alden, run away rather than be sent to a grandfather they believe is cruel. They make a cozy home for themselves in an abandoned railroad boxcar in the woods, scavenging dishes and adopting a stray dog. Living on their own, they learn to depend on one another while a mystery about their family quietly unfolds.
