Furies of Calderon is the first novel in the high fantasy series Codex Alera by Jim Butcher. It was first published in the United States by Ace Books as a hardcover on October 5, 2004, and later as a paperback on June 26, 2005. The story follows a young boy named Tavi, who is unique in his community because he lacks fury-crafting abilities.
