About “A Killing in the Market”
Frank and Joe Hardy investigate the disappearance of Cyril Bayard, a questionable investment counsellor who was dating their Aunt Gertrude and to whom she entrusted her life savings. After Bayard's clerk is found murdered with a bullet that appears to have been intended for Bayard, the boys discover Bayard's home ransacked and Aunt Gertrude becomes the chief suspect. They travel to Manhattan to consult Bayard's business associates, only to become entangled in a dangerous pursuit through the hidden workings of Wall Street.
