Franklin W. Dixon
American
Franklin W. Dixon is a house pseudonym created by the American Stratemeyer Syndicate and used by a rotating team of ghostwriters to produce The Hardy Boys mystery series, which began in 1927. The series follows teenage brothers Frank and Joe Hardy as they solve crimes alongside their detective father, and it became one of the most enduring and popular children's book franchises in American publishing history. Because the name was a collective pen name rather than a real individual, no single author biography applies, though Leslie McFarlane is widely credited as the primary early contributor.
