About “Mystery of the Desert Giant”
This book opens with Frank, Joe, and Chet using an infrared camera to watch the Hardy home after receiving a call about a mysterious visitor. A man arrives but leaves without knocking. Later, Philip Dodge, a lawyer known to their father, arrives and explains that his client, Mr. Brownlee, is searching for his missing nephew, Williard Grafton, and his friend Clifford Wetherby. Fenton Hardy sends Frank and Joe to handle the case. Meanwhile, Chet is knocked out while returning from the lab with developed photos. It becomes clear that a mysterious man has overheard their conversation. The three boys travel to California and later to Mexico and Colorado to investigate the disappearances. They face opposition from a gang determined to stop them. The story concludes with a confrontation at the desert giant, where Frank and Joe are captured by the gang.
