Jenny Humphrey, a popular Gossip Girl character, is attending Waverly Academy, an elite boarding school in New York horse country. The school is known for its wealthy students who often ignore the rules for fun. Shortly after starting, Jenny gets into trouble by being caught with her roommate's boyfriend and flashing the school during a field hockey game. She also faces the Disciplinary Committee. Her behavior has made her well-known, much like Tinsley Carmichael, Waverly's former It Girl, who was expelled last year and is said to be traveling internationally. When Tinsley returns to campus and moves in with Jenny, the competition for the title of It Girl intensifies. The story is a novel by Cecily von Ziegesar.
