Kurt Austin, a character in a new novel by Clive Cussler, is injured while trying to save people from a sinking yacht. When he regains consciousness, he has unclear memories about what happened. He is unsure if he saw an old friend and her children drown or if the yacht was empty when he boarded. He does not trust either version of the event. Determined to find the truth, he investigates and discovers a hidden world of cybercrime and human trafficking. With the help of Joe Zavala, he confronts a dangerous organization.
