About “Interview With the Vampire”

Louis tells the story of his life, both mortal and immortal. He was turned into a vampire by Lestat, a charismatic and dangerous figure. Louis struggles with his new existence and unintentionally turns a young girl named Claudia into a vampire, trapping her emotions and intelligence in a child's body. He and Claudia form a close bond and live in the French Quarter of New Orleans. They search for others like them, eventually traveling to Europe and joining a vampire theater in Paris. There, they meet Armand, who introduces them to a larger vampire society. The novel explores themes of immortality, loss, and identity. It also reflects political and social changes in two continents. The story was originally a short story that grew into a full novel. Lestat remains one of Anne Rice's most memorable characters. The book is rich in description and emotional depth.
