The Wheel of Time is a fantasy series that began in 1990 with the release of The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan. The series, which has sold over forty million copies in over thirty languages, was left incomplete after Jordan's death in 2007. Brandon Sanderson, a well-known fantasy writer, was chosen to complete the series based on Jordan's notes and partial manuscripts. Sanderson wrote The Gathering Storm and Towers of Midnight, both of which became #1 New York Times bestsellers. He then completed the final book, A Memory of Light, which was edited by Jordan’s wife. The novel was published in 2013 and offers a conclusion to the saga. The series follows a complex narrative involving prophecy, magic, and a struggle against darkness.
