Tom Swift and his friend Bud Barclay undertake a daring underwater journey across the Atlantic Ocean using electronic hydrolung suits, but their equipment is sabotaged, leading to a rescue and the discovery of a connection between the sabotage and the sinking of the SS Centurion. Tom develops the aquatomic tracker, a device capable of detecting and identifying metallic and chemical traces in water, to locate the sunken ship and recover its valuable cargo. The boys face a dangerous adversary in their quest to salvage the Centurion’s gold bullion and statue.
