About “The Child of the Cavern”
This 1877 novel by Jules Verne follows engineer James Starr, who revisits a depleted Scottish coal mine at the request of an old friend, Simon Ford, after a new coal vein is discovered. Starr finds the Ford family living in the mine, and strange, seemingly supernatural events begin occurring, which the characters investigate over several years.
