Bāṇabhaṭṭa was a 7th-century Sanskrit prose writer and poet from India who served as court poet to Emperor Harsha at Kanyakubja. His principal works include the Harshacharita, a biography of Harsha, and the novel Kadambari, which he left unfinished at his death and which was completed by his son Bhūṣaṇabhaṭṭa. Both are noted texts of Sanskrit literature.
