The Harshacharita is a biography of the Indian emperor Harsha written by Banabhatta, also known as Bana, a Sanskrit writer from seventh-century CE India. Bana served as the court poet of Harsha. The Harshacharita was Bana's first composition and marks the beginning of historical poetic works in the Sanskrit language.
