C. S. Lewis
1898–1963·British
Clive Staples Lewis (1898–1963) was a British author, academic, and Christian apologist born in Belfast, Ireland, who spent much of his career as a professor at Oxford and Cambridge. He is best remembered for The Chronicles of Narnia, a beloved fantasy series for children that weaves Christian allegory into a richly imagined world. Beyond fiction, Lewis was a prolific essayist and lay theologian whose works on faith and reason, including Mere Christianity and The Screwtape Letters, remain widely read today.
