Eoin Colfer is an Irish author born on 14 May 1965 in Wexford, Ireland, who worked as a primary school teacher before turning to writing full time. He is best known for the bestselling Artemis Fowl series, a blend of fantasy and science fiction following a teenage criminal mastermind, which has sold tens of millions of copies worldwide. He also continued Douglas Adams's beloved series by writing And Another Thing…, the sixth installment in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
