Oliver Sacks, M.D., was a physician, best-selling author, and professor of neurology at NYU School of Medicine, called by the New York Times "the poet laureate of medicine." He is best known for collections of neurological case histories, including The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat, Musicophilia, and An Anthropologist on Mars. He was a frequent contributor to the New Yorker and the New York Review of Books.
