Yao Silian, courtesy name Jianzhi, was a Chinese historian and politician during the Sui and Tang dynasties. He was the lead author of the Book of Liang and Book of Chen, official histories of the Liang and Chen dynasties, which his father Yao Cha had begun but not completed. He was granted the posthumous name Kang and the title Baron of Fengcheng.
