About “Book of Chen”
The Book of Chen, also known as Chen Shu, is the official history of the Chen dynasty, one of the Southern dynasties of China. It is part of the official Twenty-Four Histories of imperial China. Written by the Tang dynasty historian Yao Silian, it was completed in 636 AD. The book consists of thirty-six volumes and records historical facts over a period of thirty-three years, beginning with the accession of Chen Baxian and ending with the reign of the last emperor, Chen Shubao.
