About “A Gun for Sale”

Raven is an unattractive man involved in violent acts. He kills a European Minister of War, an act that has serious consequences for him and the country. He is paid with stolen money, and when one of the notes is traced, he is forced to flee. While searching for the agent who betrayed him and avoiding the police, he becomes both pursuer and pursued. This situation makes him an unintentional tool of a strange form of justice. The events set the stage for Greene’s next novel, Brighton Rock. The story is part of a novel by Graham Greene.
