About “Asas al-Balagha”
Asās al-Balāghah is a thesaurus and dictionary of figurative speech, a work in the field of Arabic rhetoric written by Al-Zamakhshari. The book was created to explore and explain the use of figurative language in Arabic. Al-Zamakhshari wrote the work, in part, to reconcile what he saw as the miraculous nature of the Qur'an with his theological beliefs.
