About “Blaze”

Blaze is a novel by American writer Stephen King, published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. King claimed to have discovered the manuscript in an attic and mentioned this on his website. According to the afterword of Different Seasons, the book was written before Carrie. King submitted the original draft along with Salem's Lot, but Salem's Lot was selected as his second novel, leaving Blaze as a "trunk novel." He later revised the manuscript, removing what he saw as excessive sentimentality, and the book was finally published in 2007.
