About “Casina. the Casket Comedy. Curculio. Epidicus. the Two Menaechmuses”
Casina is a Latin comedy written by the early Roman playwright Titus Maccius Plautus. Set in ancient Athens, the play follows an Athenian gentleman and his son, both of whom are in love with the same slave-girl, Casina. The father attempts to secretly pursue Casina by arranging her marriage to his farm-manager. However, his wife outwits him by dressing the son's armour-bearer as the bride and sending him into the bridal chamber instead. The play is a humorous example of Plautus' work, showcasing themes of mistaken identity and deception. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
